Meeting with Him

“Memorial River” was written by the author Su Xiao Kang. Su’s wife and children reunited with him in the United States of America after enduring great difficulties during the 1964 pro-democracy movement in China. Unfortunately, an unexpected car accident left his wife chronically paralyzed. In face of despair, helplessness and struggle during the rehabilitation of his wife, he wrote, “Man to a great extent can control his own destiny, but now it sounds humorous to me.” …We were so confident in “restoring” the “figure” of country, nation, society and civilization which is beyond cure. While facing a man and a disastrous situation of a family by ourselves, there is nothing except the sense as if the heaven and earth have collapsed. …Actually it is our anxious inner heart which is like being in a bottomless abyss that is longing strongly for a miracle, and its momentary prayer find its place. There is actually a spirit depth unknown within the heart of man. I met Him in a disaster. Man cannot fathom the wonder of the Creator. He made such an “insignificant” man, but places man in the “boundless” universe. However, the heart, spirit and wisdom of man were made so great until man cannot be limited. Man can think, conceive, understand and comprehend as vast as the universe and as small as the boundaries of particles. When man see things in a magnified or minimized way, the only answer is as what Su Xiao Kang has said, “nothing”. Man can never find an answer unless he understands the real heart desire of the Creator. The wondrous within all the creation is in the creation of man, because man can understand, comprehend and believe Him. Man can meet with Him in time.

The Golden Seed

There was a notorious robber from Jiang Yang in a certain county, who was caught with great effort by the king’s forces. The king interrogated the robber by himself because of the seriousness of the case. The robber admitted his guilt, but he declared to the crowd, “I have sinned worthy of a thousand deaths; regrettably no one can inherit my most prized possession. If anyone can accept this treasure and learn its method, one can easily have a prosperous country and strong citizens.”Intrigued, the king asked, “What is it that you have?”The robber replied, “I have a golden seed, if it is planted in the ground, it can produce a hundredfold of gold.” The king said, “Since you have this seed, you should have prospered much earlier, why are you still a robber?”The robber said, “This seed must be planted by someone who has not sinned in his entire life, then only will it bear gold. One cannot plant this seed even if he does not sin outwardly but has sinned within his heart” The robber presented the golden seed to the king. The king recalled he committed a great sin yesterday night and was unable to plant it, so one of his consultant ministers said, “Who among you are able to plant this seed?”All the ministers shook their hands and declined. Another consultant minister of the king said, “Who in your midst have never sinned and is able to plant this golden seed?”All the military ministers shook their hands. At this instant, the robber shouted in injustice, “O king! I am innocent! All your ministers are sinful, why am I the only one being condemned? Please release me, great king!”Friends, are you brave enough to plant this golden seed? If you are unable to do so, you are also a sinner, in need of Jesus to be your Savior. Please pray, “O Lord Jesus! Please be merciful on a sinner like me.” Then you can be saved.

A Clay Doll

A father saw a clay doll seller when he passed by a road. The clay doll’s face was painted white and red with two dark eyebrows. The man bought one for her young daughter to play with. The young daughter liked the clay doll very much when she saw itl. “The clay doll’s face is very fair, even fairer than my face; its face is very red, even redder than my face.” This was in her thought. She kept touching the doll’s face so much so that it became disfigured. The little girl was astonished, wondering why this clay doll could not be touched continuously. Then she had a thought, “When my face is dirty, mommy usually takes a basin of water for me to wash it.” She fills a basin with water to wash the clay doll’s face. But the more she washes its face, the darker and dirtier it became, eventually even the water for washing became dirty. She cried and her father came and asked, “Why are you crying?” “I wash the clay doll’s face but it became dirtier” she replied. The father said, “The clay doll cannot be washed since the more you wash it the dirtier it becomes”. Dear friends, your outward decoration may look good, but you are filled with sin and evil inwardly, the more you wash the dirtier it becomes. Whenever you want to arrange and tidy yourself, these cannot be done, since the more you wash the dirtier you become. Meditation, doing good and trying to improve oneself are all useless. All these cannot change your inward evil into good. It is only by believing in Jesus that you can be saved and have a change in life. Temporary peace and happiness will only result in more pain. It is only by receiving Jesus as your Saviour can you gain eternal happiness and blessing.

Who said that I am a sinner?

I joined gospel meetings for a few times and often heard Christian said that we are sinners. I do not steal and rob, how can I be a sinner? What is the view of the Bible concerning sinners? Who exactly are sinners? Many people will answer in this way: Perpetrators are sinners. If we check the Webster’s dictionary, I am afraid that it also explains that perpetrators are sinners. But, if we read the Bible, we would have to correct this sentence. It is not “perpetrators are sinners”, but “sinners sin”. Romans chapter 5 verse 19 says, “So then as it was through one offense unto condemnation to all men,” This “one” here refers to Adam. Adam is the ancestor of mankind. Adam’s offence and fall made him receive the evil nature of Satan which is sin and this element of sin made all men constituted sinners. Hence, all wh o are born of Adam are sinners. All of us are sinners according to our inner constitution. Two things need to be filled when we write a resume, one is our native origin and the other is our occupation. Our native origin is “A Sinner” and our occupation is “To Sin” sin from God’s point of view. Since our native origin is a sinner, whether we sin or not, we are sinners. There are two kinds of sinners in this word: those who sin while the other are ethical sinners. Regardless of whether one is a sinner who sins or an ethical sinner, all are considered as sinners. God said that those born of Adam are sinners. No matter what your condition is, as long as you are born of Adam, you are a sinner. If you sin then you are called a sinner who sins. If you do not sin or if you sin less (to be precise) then you are called an ethical sinner who sins less. If you are noble, then you are a noble sinner. If you perceive yourself as holy, then you are a holy sinner. You are still a sinner. Man made a…..
