Many books have been published over the years discussing about the experience of death. It can be said that opinions are widely divided and we do not have a clear decision on what is the right point of view. Throughout the ages, death is something almost everyone is afraid to face. Hence, people living on this earth keep finding ways to extend their own life, hoping to ultimately find the secret to live forever and to never grow old. But we all know that every person will have to face death sooner or later. Why are men afraid of death? It may be because we have an inherently strong will to survive, but the main reason is that no one knows exactly what happens after death, it is a world yet to be explored by man. Mankind has been discussing about death since ancient times, books have also been published describing near-death experiences, but this kind of narration are basically very abstract and distant. Actually, the authors do not have the answer. This kind of experience cannot be easily attempted by any ordinary person. So death is a frightening abyss in the eyes of men, because they do not know what comes after death. What then does the Bible say about death? First Thessalonians chapter four verse 13 to 14 said, “But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are sleeping, that you would not grieve even as also the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, so also those who have fallen asleep through Jesus, God will bring with Him. ” It is amazing that the Bible describes death as sleeping, meaning that death is not the end of life. This is because all those who sleep will wake up in the future. All the dead will be resurrected and wake up from their slumber to stand before the Lord, just as how the Lord Jesus had resurrected from the death. If we truly know the Bible, we will know that death is not as what…..
The whole world jeered at the great scientist Galileo when he discovered that the earth orbits around the sun, but who does not teach their children that the earth orbits around the sun today? The world did not believe Watt when he invented the steam engine. The world thought that he was dreaming when Stephen used the steam engine to drive a train. Morse invented the telegraph which could send a message from one side of the Atlantic Ocean to the other within a second. The world thought that he was a dreamer, a wishful thinker. Is there anyone who does not believe this is great invention today? The great physician Sir James Simpson in Edinburgh found the anaesthetic for surgery. People asked him, “What is your greatest discovery?” He answered without hesitation, “My greatest discovery is ‘The Lord Jesus Christ is Saviour.’ ” Receiving the Lord Jesus is not only by accepting His teachings or Him being an exemplary person, but to accept what He said, that is, He is the Saviour of the world.
The Bible said, “God is love.”Since God is love, why is there so much suffering in the world? Why do so many people encounter misfortune? Why is it that even Christians always meet with suffering circumstances? Where do all these suffering come from? I think most people have such questions, especially when we are experiencing suffering or when our relatives and friends are going through difficult times. We will have particularly deep thoughts and feelings with regards to questions like these. No matter what our circumstances are, we should not doubt God’s heart. God really is love, God not only loves His children, God also loves the people of the world. If that is the case, where then does suffering come from? In the beginning, there was no suffering when God created man on earth. Man was peaceful and happy in the environment that was created and arranged by God for him. He did not need to worry about the necessities of life. There weren’t any natural disasters, man-made calamity, sickness and death. It was after man sinned and fell that this righteous God had no choice but to treat man righteously according to the law, thus bringing in suffering. The land which was originally serving man by producing food grew thorns and thistles because it was cursed, so man needed to labour for his whole life, by the sweat of his face in order that he will eat bread to maintain his existence. Not only so, but the whole creation was submitted under vanity because of the fall of man and the descent into the reign of corruption. Since sin is within us, our body will fall sick, wane, age and die. There will be worries, anxiety and fear in our hearts. There are also hatred, conflict and war among men and among nations. As a result, the originally peaceful and happy world became a world of suffering. The reason is basically due to the consequences of man’s sin. Secondly, we know that the world is under the control of Satan today. When believers receive the salvation of…..
The relationiship between the sun, the earth and the moon relates greatly to the existence of all living things. The temperature of the sun cannot be too low, neither can it be too high. The distance between the earth and sky cannot be too close; neither can it be too far away. The earth’s crust cannot be thicker; neither can the seas be deeper. The earth cannot stop rotating, neither can it rotate any slower. The moon cannot be closer to earth, neither can it be further. How can all these complicated and exact requirements be met to provide the perfect conditions needed for living things to exist? If there is but a little deviation in this ever-changing universe, how can living things continue to exist in this world? Are all this complicated elements formed by coincidence? If someone won a special award for five times, then people will say that person must have cheated. It is clear that when the frequency is high, it is not reasonable to say that he succeeded by coincidence. “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, Who has calculated the extent of the heavens with a handspan, And measured out the dust of the earth by a measure, And weighed the mountains in scales And the hills in balances?” (Isaiah 40:12). The Bible talks about God’s creation in such a way. We are told that everything was evaluated, measured and balanced by God to be just right for the existence of living things. It is not out of coincidence. Consider the process of incubation. A Potatobug incubates for seven days, a canary for fourteen days,a chicken for 21 days, a goose and a duckling for 28 days, a wild duck for 35 days, a parrot and an ostrich for 42 days, all of the days are the multiplication of seven: are these by coincidence? These are not regulated by the animals themselves, but by the Creator. Every watermelon has an even number of stripes, every ranks of the corn is in even number and every ear of wheat is…..
